Appointment of New Chief Executive

The Trustees of Your Place have great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Amanda Dubarry as our new Chief Executive.

Amanda joins the charity following 22 years at Step by Step, where she is Chief Executive and has been largely responsible for the diversification and growth of the charity. Step by Step works with young people who are facing adversity, including homelessness, to realise their aspirations and reach their full potential.

She is also a member of the Board of Homeless Link and sits on their National Advisory Panel, and is a Trustee of charity and social enterprise Rushmoor Healthy Living.

Simon Hall, Chair of Trustees at Your Place, said, We are delighted to welcome Amanda to her new role as our Chief Executive. She has a wealth of experience and skills, and shares our vision of creating opportunities for all to meet their aspirations, regardless of their background or life experiences. This is an exciting time for Your Place as we look to develop our services, to respond to existing and future challenges for the sector and area in which we work.”

Amanda, who will take up the position in March 2018, said, “After a long career with Step by Step, I feel I have achieved my ambitions for the charity, and now is the right time to take on this new opportunity. I relish this new challenge at Your Place, a leading provider of accommodation and services to people who are homeless and disadvantaged, and look forward to working with the team to consolidate and scale up its offering to its residents and the wider community.”

Your Place, based in the London Borough of Newham, provides a highly regarded accommodation and support service to over 250 single homeless adults each year, as well as thousands of community members accessing its services. The charity’s driving mission is to ensure that those who walk through their doors grow in confidence and move towards leading independent, fulfilling lives by providing education and guidance. The borough has the highest homelessness population than anywhere else in the country, with one in every 25 people without a home.

Your Place has also appointed a new Chair of Trustees, Simon Hall MBE, who succeeds Monsignor John Armitage after over 20 years with the charity.
