Inspirational Colleagues attend Housing Heroes Awards

Support Worker, Larra, and Senior IT Officer, Gabriel, visited Manchester this week to celebrate Head of Facilities, Jacquie Howell’s place in the shortlist for the Inspirational Colleague of the Year category at the Housing Heroes Awards.

Unfortunately Jacquie was unable to attend the ceremony, but earlier this year, the Your Place staff team were asked to send through nominations for their Inspirational Colleague of the Year, with the winner being entered for the external vote at the Housing Heroes Awards.

Jacquie came first in the staff vote, closely followed by Larra and Gabriel.

Here are some of the nominations that were made for our three winners by the Your Place team:

On Jacquie: “She amazes me with her dedication, unconditional support and tenacity she shows to both residents and team members. She always goes above and beyond to stand up for what she believes is right for the residents and staff. Not only does she support her team members but she is a mentor to many other members of staff and always has time to listen and guide.”

On Larra: “After witnessing the impactful support work we provide, Larra courageously stepped into a role she had never before undertaken, after spending a couple of years in our Customer Services team. Not only did she embrace the challenge, but she also fully integrated herself into the team, demonstrating a strong eagerness to learn and an impressive ability to think on her feet, all while staying firmly aligned with the organization’s core values. Her contributions have been invaluable, and she has quickly proven herself to be an indispensable asset to our team. We are excited to continue watching her grow and evolve into an even more exceptional support worker.”

On Gabriel: “Gabriel is a total ray of sunshine at Your Place, despite having the darkest office I’ve ever seen. He has an amazingly friendly and open way with people, and always does the best he can when we’re having a bad tech day. He is really knowledgeable about a lot of things, and seems to really care not only about getting the job done, but about people, how their day is going. A smile goes a long way and no one does that better than Gabriel!”

Congratulations Jacquie, Larra and Gabriel, and thank you for your work as inspirational colleagues!
