This partnership will see residents of Caritas Anchor House accessing free training, provided by EM Training Solutions, to improve their skills and access to jobs in the construction industry. This collaboration is highly valued, as it helps residents – who are rebuilding their lives after a period of homelessness – to re-enter the job market.

It’s been said that new building developments have resulted in a strong performing sector, and the longest period of growth since the last recession. It’s a great time for those who want to work in the field.

One resident of Caritas Anchor House, Carlito*, is eager to get into the construction industry. He said, “I’ve previously faced obstacles, including long-term and expensive training programmes”, but is now pleased to have the opportunity to complete free one-day CSCS training with EM Training, which focuses on health and safety in a construction environment.

He adds that this training will give him the ability to add more skills to his skill set, which will later boost his chances of moving up in the construction industry as he hopes to become a construction manager in the future.

Carlito has also recently successfully completed Move-On training with the Caritas Anchor House team, and feels ready to secure a job and a home of his own. He said, “This is a great stepping stone for me, to help me to move on”.

We are happy to be working in partnership with EM Training Solutions, to help research to upskill and secure jobs. Partnerships like these are vital, and give our residents the chance to look towards the future.
