SHORTLISTED FOR UK HOUSING AWARDS 2019
We are delighted to announce that we are in the running for a prestigious national award.
Caritas Anchor House has been shortlisted in this year’s UK Housing Awards, in the Homelessness Project of the Year (<4,000 homes) category.
The UK Housing Awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing, showcase the very best the housing sector has to offer. This accolade celebrates projects, initiatives and organisations making a difference to the lives of people experiencing and at-risk of homelessness.
Caritas Anchor House provides a lifeline to those without a place to call home. We are the main provider of homelessness services in the borough with the highest level of homelessness in the country. Here, one in every 24 people has nowhere to live.
In the last year alone, we provided a home and hope to 262 people. We offer more than a roof over the heads of those we support, and are driven by our mission to ensure that each person who walks through our doors goes on to lead independent, fulfilling lives, full of confidence and aspirations.
As such, we provide support and encouragement, 365 days a year, to help people who have been homeless to get back on their feet.
“I was a car crash waiting to happen, but Caritas Anchor House has given me a chance to get my life back on track.” – Tariq, CAH resident
This nomination is the latest in an impressive history of accolades for Caritas Anchor House. In 2018, we won the Inclusive Team of the Year award at the Housing Heroes Awards and were a finalist in the Outstanding Approach to Homelessness category at the UK Housing Awards.
The winners of this year’s UK Housing Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on 1st May 2019.
