Director of Services, John, smashes the T100 Triathlon!
John Lowery took on the epic T100 Triathlon at Newham’s ExCel Centre, in aid of Your Place
On Sunday 28 July, our Director of Frontline Services, John Lowery, took on the epic challenge of the London T100 Triathlon, which comprised of a 2km swim, 80km cycle, and 18km run. The total of 100km took place in our local neighbourhood of Newham, down the road at the ExCel Centre.
Starting with a 6.40am dash into the water for the swimming part of the challenge, John then took to the bike and the tracks respectively, in blistering heat.
After a moment to catch his breath at the finishing line, John said: “A big thank you to everyone who has supported and donated over the past few weeks. I know what a difference the money raised today will make, so thank you!”
At the time of writing, John has smashed his fundraising target and raised around £1,300 for our work solving homelessness one person at a time. Residents will benefit from John’s fundraising, and the fantastic efforts of our other supporters, in a range of ways, including new health and wellbeing activities, which will have lasting impact on self-esteem, confidence, and building soft skills.
