TAKING ON A MARATHON SWIM FOR CARITAS ANCHOR HOUSE
This month one of our dedicated supporters, Paul Balson, is taking on a difficult challenge!
On Sunday 5th August 2018, Paul will be taking on the Thames Marathon – a 14 kilometre long-distance challenge swim, from Henley-on-Thames to Marlow.
While Paul (pictured in red) will be taking in the beautiful stretch of the Thames during one of open water swimming’s most prestigious marathon swims, he will also be raising money for Caritas Anchor House.
Paul said, “By taking on this challenge, I’ll be helping a fantastic charity in East London and I hope that you can be a part of that too.
Each year, Caritas Anchor House welcomes over 250 homeless people through their doors and provides them with a home and the support needed to improve their lives. Most people are just three pay cheques away from homelessness – it could happen to any of us.
“I want to raise money for Caritas Anchor House because of their ethos: helping people to help themselves. I feel lucky for the support I have received from my family when things haven’t always gone to plan and I understand how easy it is for people to become homeless.
I am a fan of a good comeback story and Caritas Anchor House gives people the tools they need to get back on their feet and get that positive forward momentum in their lives.
Every donation has the potential to make a difference to someone’s life. I would be very grateful for any donations, and am hugely appreciative of your support.”

Paul also took part in the Bantham Swoosh swimming event in 2017 raising money for Caritas Anchor House – and we are extremely grateful for his ongoing support!
