Welcoming our new Chair as Simon Hall steps down after decade of leadership
After nine years of service on our Board and over 14 years of dedicated involvement with Your Place, today we announce that Simon Hall MBE DL will step down from his role as Chair later this year.
Simon first became involved with Your Place in 2011 as part of our Fundraising Appeal Board, supporting a major campaign that enabled us to expand and strengthen our accommodation and services. In 2016 he became a Trustee, and was appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees in 2017, guiding the charity through a period of significant growth and transformation.
Under Simon’s leadership, we have expanded our reach, modernised our facilities, and developed innovative support services that help people move on from homelessness for good. He has overseen our rebrand, strengthened our financial sustainability and championed the voices of those we serve.

Looking to the future, we are delighted that Edward Sparrow will be joining Your Place as Chair of the Board of Trustees from December 2025.
Edward brings a wealth of leadership and governance experience and a deep commitment to public service. With a distinguished career spanning the legal, educational and charitable sectors, he is passionate about driving meaningful change. Edward is committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to build a brighter future – values that align with our mission to end homelessness, one person at a time.
Edward said, “I’ve always believed in using my experience to serve the broader public good. The opportunity to join Your Place and contribute to its work in solving homelessness is incredibly inspiring. The focus on providing not just shelter, but also the tools and support needed for long-term success, aligns closely with my own values of empowering individuals and driving positive, sustainable change.
