What does Your Place mean to you?

At Your Place, we are on a mission to create a community that is welcoming, supportive, and empowering for everyone. We believe that everyone deserves to have a place to call their own, a place where they feel safe and happy. That’s why we’ve asked our residents, employees, board members and supporters what ‘your place’ means to them, and we’re excited to share their thoughts with you.

Everyone’s interpretation of ‘your place’ is unique and personal. For some, it’s a physical space, a home they have created and filled with memories. For others, it’s a state of mind, a feeling of comfort, security, and belonging, that they carry with them wherever they go.

"Your Place means community to me and that community is literally at the core of the organisation. - Fee Mak, BBC 1Xtra Breakfast Host"

Our residents, employees, board members and supporters shared their thoughts with us, and we can’t wait to share them with you. They spoke about the importance of community, the feeling of belonging, and the role that Your Place plays in their lives.

"Your Place has taught me that my past doesn’t have to affect my future and anything I put my mind to I can achieve. - Danley, Resident"

But we don’t want the conversation to end there. We want to hear from you too. We want to know what ‘your place’ means to you. Everyone’s voice is important, and we want to create a space where everyone can share their thoughts and ideas.

In May, we’ll be publishing the thoughts and ideas of our community members on our social media channels, and we invite you to join us in this exciting journey of discovery. You can share your ideas through written quotes, photos, videos, or anything else that you feel comfortable with.

At Your Place, we are committed to creating a community where everyone feels welcome, supported and empowered. Everyone deserves a place to call their own, and we want to create that place together.

"Your Place is my home, it’s the place I started to feel part of. For me, it’s happiness. It’s living. - Dulce, Resident"
